Downtown update
Friday, April 1, 2011 at 9:23AM I am starting to look into the possibility of placing water storage/infiltration beneath buildings as was suggested by the City of Auburn during reviews. It was agreed that typical foundation systems include pilings in Auburn.
I have been working with Systems group to develope a plan for the downtown area for which we have decided to focus on the NW corner of Division and SW 1st St. They plan to store and use all roof runoff in the building, so I am no longer accounting for roof runoff in this plan. Therefore, I have decided to use bioretention cells primarily for stormwater runoff from streets because I have found them to be fairly effective at removing the associated metals, oil and grease, and PAH's as well as many nutrients and coliforms through literature review.
